Frequently asked questions:
[Anything related to dual-booting]
Shit idk I have literally never dual-booted. I have never dual-booted Linux and Windows, I have never dual-booted Linux and other Linux, and I have never dual-booted Linux with any BSD distro. My condolences for any struggles you may experience in your journey, of putting two operating systems on one computer.
What do you have against physical media?
Putting aside for a moment that as a pedant I am not a huge fan of the term (all storage is physical storage, but I understand the intended meaning) nothing in particular. There are some major disadvantages compared to sticking shit on a hard drive but by the same token, there are some notable advantages depending on the situation.
The actual problem I have is that the conversations around this topic around these parts are ill-informed and I wish people would stop having them in my notes. If you are going to say something along the lines of "physical is forever" (inaccurate: x, x, x, x, etc) please either distill that into a more accurate statement or put it on your own posts instead of mine. If you are going to tout physical as a format that is safer from DRM consider not doing that. Thank you.
Why are you a defender of the .webp format?
webp offers significantly smaller filesizes compared to the older png and jpeg formats, and it's a versatile format with the option of lossless compression (like pngs), lossy compression (like jpegs) as well as animation (with very significant filesize reduction compared to gifs)
So you can get smaller filesizes on images with larger dimensions or more detail, allowing for one to have both faster-loading webpages and fancier graphics at the same time. While some image editors and defunct operating systems still do not natively support webp display, the number of major image editors with zero support is increasingly small and at some point support for dated systems needs to take a backseat to consideration for the bandwidth of users with slow internet and/or data caps. PNG used to not have wide support either and it's a well-liked format now.

libwebp exists, has existed for over a decade, and is BSD-licensed (effectively the same as MIT). at this point the slow adoption is solely the fault of the people actually developing photoshop etc etc. if your program doesn't support webp ingestion in the year of our luigi 2023 it kind of sucks.
also people talk about 'changing the extension to make it work' which is baffling because this shouldn't actually work; it's like writing "in English" on the cover of a book in french and expecting it to be translated. so if this does make it work with other software, it means that software already supports webp but just doesn't want to list it in the list of supported file types for some reason.
that's not even getting into like the technical concerns about webp vs png/jpeg. smaller image sizes are better!
also just use imagemagick if you want to convert stuff (and you should be using a video format as your container for animations, not fucking gifs)

Why Website Speed Matters More Than Ever
Tumblr media
In a world of instant gratification, a slow website is a deal-breaker. Users expect pages to load in under two seconds, and if they don’t, they bounce. Plain and simple. Google knows this too — and it rewards fast-loading sites with higher rankings. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you’re essentially lightening the load on your site. Fewer megabytes means faster rendering, which equals happier visitors and better search visibility. Speed isn’t just a luxury anymore; it’s a necessity.
Understanding Image File Formats: JPG vs WEBP
JPG has been around forever, right? It’s the old-timer of the image world. Great for compatibility, not so much for compression. On the other hand, WEBP is the new kid with the magic touch. It compresses images better — keeping quality high and file sizes low. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you’re saying goodbye to bloated images and hello to efficiency. It’s like going from VHS tapes to streaming Netflix. Same story, way better delivery.
The Technical Benefits of WEBP Over JPG
Alright, let’s geek out for a sec. WEBP supports both lossy and lossless compression. It also includes alpha transparency and animation — features JPG just can’t handle. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you gain sharper images, smaller file sizes, and enhanced versatility. For web developers and site owners, this means better control over how your visuals perform across devices and browsers. It’s the ultimate tech upgrade without touching a single line of code.
Impact of Image Size on Website Load Speed
Large image files are like traffic jams for your website. The heavier they are, the longer they take to load. It’s basic physics — or, well, basic bandwidth. If your pages are packed with high-res JPGs, you’re making your visitors wait unnecessarily. By choosing to Convert JPG to WEBP, you slash image sizes without sacrificing clarity. It’s like switching from a truckload of bricks to feather-light foam — same shape, way easier to carry.
How Converting JPG to WEBP Optimizes Performance
Performance is more than just speed — it’s about how efficiently your site runs. Every image you serve affects your page’s load, and poor choices here ripple across the entire user experience. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you eliminate unnecessary weight and reduce HTTP requests. That means smoother, snappier pages that keep users engaged and reduce bounce rates. It’s like decluttering your digital home.
The SEO Advantage of Faster Image Loads
Google’s algorithm loves speed. If your site is slow, you’re ranking lower — it’s that simple. Faster image delivery is a hidden SEO gem that too many people overlook. By opting to Convert JPG to WEBP, you’re giving your site the edge it needs to climb those SERP rankings. Think of it as turbocharging your on-page SEO without writing a single meta tag.
User Experience: Why Speed Equals Satisfaction
Imagine walking into a store and having to wait two minutes before the door opens. That’s how users feel on slow websites. Speed is part of the customer journey, and it defines their satisfaction. When you Convert JPG to WEBP, you’re ensuring that visuals don’t get in the way of the experience. Instead, they enhance it — fast, clean, and frustration-free.

Product Listing Services: The Secret Conversion Weapon Your E-Commerce Store is Ignoring
Tumblr media
The Brutal Truth About Your Product Listings
Here’s a hard pill to swallow: Your $50,000 Shopify store, your killer Facebook ads, and your influencer collabs mean nothing if your product listings look like they were written by a sleep-deprived intern at 3 AM.
Fact: 87% of shoppers abandon carts because of poor product information. Yet most stores:
☑️ Copy-paste manufacturer descriptions (duplicate content = SEO suicide) ☑️ Use blurry, inconsistent images (mobile zoom disasters) ☑️ Forget basic SEO (missing alt text, weak meta titles) ☑️ Ignore psychological triggers (features ≠ benefits)
At Ecommservices India, we don’t just “list” products—we engineer them to sell. Here’s how.
1. Why “Good Enough” Listings Are Costing You 63% in Lost Sales
Think your product pages are fine? Check these conversion killers:
🩸 The “Wall of Text” Effect: Paragraphs that nobody reads 🩸 Image Inconsistency: Some products have 10 photos, others have 1 🩸 Missing Keywords: Google can’t find you because your listings speak Martian 🩸 Variant Chaos: Size “S” vs “Small” vs “Smal” (filters break, shoppers leave)
Case Study: A fashion client saw a 218% increase in conversions after we standardized their color/size attributes.
2. Our Product Listing Services – More Than Just Data Entry
We’re the Navy SEALs of e-commerce listings:
✅ SEO-Optimized Titles & Descriptions: Keywords + persuasion = rankings + sales ✅ Bullet Points That Sell: Benefits > features (example: “Sweat-wicking fabric” → “Stay dry during intense workouts”) ✅ Image Optimization: WebP compression + alt text for speed + SEO ✅ Variant Harmony: Clean size/color options that don’t confuse buyers ✅ Mobile-First Formatting: Readable on phones (where 72% of shoppers browse)
Pro Tip: Pair with our product photography services for start-to-finish visual domination.
3. The 7 Deadly Sins of DIY Listings (And How We Fix Them)
Most store owners/VA’s commit these unforgivable sins:
☠ Sin #1: Using ALL CAPS (LOOKS LIKE YOU’RE YELLING) ☠ Sin #2: Ignoring schema markup (bye-bye rich snippets in Google) ☠ Sin #3: No size charts (leading to 40% of apparel returns) ☠ Sin #4: Stock photos only (lifestyle images convert 3X better) ☠ Sin #5: Forgetting cross-sells (“Frequently bought together” = 35% higher AOV) ☠ Sin #6: Lazy keyword stuffing (“Buy best cheap quality premium XYZ”) ☠ Sin #7: No urgency/scarcity (“Only 3 left!” → 22% more conversions)
Our Exorcism Process:
AIDA Copywriting (Attention, Interest, Desire, Action)
Emotional Triggers (“Feel the difference” > “100% cotton”)
Structured Data Markup for Google Shopping dominance
4. Beyond Basics: The Listing Hacks You Didn’t Know Existed
Our product listing services include next-level tricks:
🔥 Search Term Optimization: Target “long-tail” queries like “breathable running socks for men” 🔥 UGC Integration: Embed customer photos/videos in listings (social proof = trust) 🔥 Seasonal Updates: Swap banners/descriptions for holidays (Halloween, Diwali, etc.) 🔥 Multilingual Listings: Tap global markets without Google Translate disasters
Client Result: A home decor store increased international sales by 89% with localized listings.
5. “But Can’t I Just Use AI Tools?”
Oh, you sweet summer child…
🤖 AI Fails At:
Understanding your brand voice (generic = forgettable)
Proper keyword placement (stuffing vs. natural integration)
Emotional persuasion (“This jacket will make you feel unstoppable” ≠ AI’s forte)
Human Advantage: Our writers know:
How to highlight unique selling points
When to use power words (“luxurious” vs “good”)
Where to place CTAs without being pushy
6. How It Works: From Listings to Profits in 3 Steps
1️⃣ You Share Products: Send a CSV, Excel file, or even a messy supplier sheet. 2️⃣ We Transform Them: Optimized titles, descriptions, images, and variants. 3️⃣ You Approve & Watch Sales Grow: While we handle updates and expansions.
Turnaround Time:
50 products: 48 hours
500 products: 5 days
5000+ products: Custom plan
Final Warning: Your Competitors Are Outsourcing This
While you’re reading this:
✔ Amazon sellers are using pro listing services to steal your buyers. ✔ DTC brands are A/B testing product descriptions for 5% higher conversions. ✔ Your visitors are bouncing because your listings look untrustworthy.
Time to fight back with listings that:
Rank higher on Google & Amazon
Convert better than your competitors’
Save you hours of tedious work
📢 DM “PRODUCT LISTING” for a FREE audit of your 3 worst listings (we’ll rewrite one for free).
CTA: “Stop letting weak listings sabotage your sales. Professional product listing services turn browsers into buyers—guaranteed.”

Tips for Scaling Your Mobile Application Effectively
As your mobile application gains more users, the need to scale it becomes inevitable. Scaling ensures your app remains responsive, reliable, and efficient as the number of users and data grow. However, scaling a mobile app is not just about handling more users—it's about optimizing performance, improving infrastructure, and maintaining a seamless user experience. In this blog, we’ll discuss essential tips for scaling your mobile application effectively.
1. Optimize Your Backend Infrastructure The backend of your mobile app plays a crucial role in handling requests, storing data, and managing user interactions. As your app scales, your backend infrastructure must be able to support the increased load without compromising performance.
Cloud Services: Using cloud platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure can provide the scalability needed. These platforms allow you to scale your app up or down depending on traffic and usage.
Load Balancing: Implement load balancers to evenly distribute traffic across servers, preventing any single server from becoming a bottleneck.
Microservices Architecture: Instead of a monolithic approach, consider breaking your backend into smaller, manageable microservices. This makes it easier to scale specific components of your app without affecting the entire system.
2. Improve Database Scalability As your app grows, so does the volume of data it needs to process. A poorly optimized database can cause slow performance, leading to a bad user experience. To scale your database:
Database Sharding: Distribute your database across multiple servers to reduce the load on a single server and ensure faster access times.
Caching: Implement caching strategies to reduce the need for constant database queries. Use tools like Redis or Memcached to store frequently accessed data temporarily.
Optimize Queries: Regularly review and optimize your database queries to minimize the strain on your database. Indexing, query optimization, and database normalization can make a significant difference in performance.
3. Focus on Mobile App Performance Optimization As your app scales, ensuring it remains responsive is essential. Slow load times or laggy performance can drive users away. Focus on these areas to enhance app performance:
Image Optimization: Large images can slow down app loading times. Use image compression techniques and modern formats like WebP to reduce image size without compromising quality.
App Caching: Cache static data and assets to speed up loading times and reduce the need for frequent data requests.
Code Splitting: Break your code into smaller chunks and load only the necessary parts of the app. This reduces the app’s initial load time and allows for faster updates.
App Profiling and Testing: Regularly use profiling tools (e.g., Android Profiler or Xcode Instruments) to test and monitor the app’s performance. Address memory leaks, unnecessary background processes, and other performance bottlenecks.
4. Implement Scalable APIs As the user base of your app grows, the demand on your app’s API also increases. To ensure your API can handle the scaling process:
API Rate Limiting: Implement rate limiting to prevent API abuse and ensure the server isn’t overwhelmed by too many requests at once.
Versioning: Maintain version control for your APIs to prevent compatibility issues as new features or updates are introduced.
REST vs GraphQL: Consider using REST APIs for simple use cases, but for more complex data-fetching needs, GraphQL might be a better option, offering more flexibility and efficiency in data retrieval.
5. Manage User Data Effectively With a growing user base, managing large amounts of data efficiently becomes critical. Implement the following best practices:
Data Compression: Use compression techniques to reduce the size of stored data, particularly for large files and images.
Data Encryption: Ensure sensitive user data is encrypted both at rest and in transit to maintain security and compliance with data protection regulations like GDPR.
Data Backup: Regularly back up user data to avoid loss due to unforeseen server failures or other issues.
6. Improve App Security as You Scale Security becomes increasingly important as your app gains more users and handles more data. Protecting user information and app data from potential breaches is critical:
Authentication: Use secure and scalable authentication methods, like OAuth or multi-factor authentication (MFA), to protect user accounts.
Secure APIs: Ensure your APIs are secure by using protocols like HTTPS, and implement regular security testing and vulnerability scans.
App Permissions: Be transparent with users about the permissions the app requests, ensuring you’re only collecting necessary data and maintaining user trust.
7. Implement User Analytics and Monitoring As your app scales, tracking user behavior, performance, and system health becomes crucial. Use analytics and monitoring tools to stay on top of your app’s performance and user engagement:
User Behavior Analytics: Tools like Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, and Amplitude can help you understand user behavior, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions for future updates.
Crash and Performance Monitoring: Tools like Sentry or Firebase Crashlytics can provide insights into crashes, bugs, and performance bottlenecks, allowing you to address issues before they impact a large number of users.
8. Plan for Continuous Updates and Maintenance Scaling an app doesn’t stop once you’ve hit a certain number of users. Continuous updates, bug fixes, and feature enhancements are essential for keeping users engaged and maintaining a positive experience.
Agile Development: Use agile methodologies to ensure your app evolves with user needs. Break your development into iterative sprints to deliver regular updates.
Automated Testing: Implement automated testing frameworks to catch bugs early and ensure that new updates don’t break existing functionality.
User Feedback: Regularly collect feedback from your users and use this data to guide your app’s updates and features.
Conclusion Scaling a mobile application effectively requires a comprehensive approach to performance, infrastructure, database management, and security. By focusing on these key areas and implementing best practices, you can ensure that your app remains responsive, secure, and capable of handling an expanding user base. With the right strategies in place, your app can grow seamlessly while continuing to deliver a high-quality experience for users.

As far as I’m aware, the top three web browsers (Google Chrome, Mozilla Firefox, and Apple Safari) have support for WEBP. Even Microsoft Edge has support for the format, despite Microsoft’s vendetta against putting WEBP support in their other products.
But WEBP is a free-to-use, open-source format. It’s less of a question of why products don’t support vs. why devs are opposed to adding a few libraries to their product in order to make it more universally useful.
I saw a post about how good WEBP was, and I thought to myself, "maybe I've been unfair. I should give it a chance," so I translated all the hundreds of photos and GIFs on my Jellyfin server to WEBP to see what would happen. Here are the results:
PNG, JPEG, TIFF, GIF, etc: 2.12 GB
JPEG & GIF: 1.45 GB
WEBP: 1.28 GB
WEBP & GIF: 1.22 GB
For some reason, Shutter Encoder seems to break Animated WEBP files. Not only did it double their size, but it also prevented macOS or Firefox from playing them correctly, so I went back to GIF. It ended up saving more space, anyway
In the end, however, I'm actually really surprised. Using WEBP allows me to preserve a lot of my photos in Lossless compression, all while taking up less space than my current, total JPEG, 100% Lossy setup. WEBP, especially for data storage and server management, actually seems to make a lot of sense, and I'm probably gonna end up using it for the files on my Jellyfin server from now on.

Want to know about Diogo Jota??? | Scouting report via /r/LiverpoolFC
Want to know about Diogo Jota??? | Scouting report
To help some fans that may never have watched our new signing Diogo Jota play, I decided to do an analysis of his overall game...
I break down Jota's profile into 4 parts:
Jota's attacking ability
His playmaking ability
How he contributes defensively
How he ultimately fits in
----------
Last season
In the 2019/20 season, Diogo Jota played 48 games in Nuno's 343/352 system; 27 games from LW, 13 from CF and 6 from other positions, hinting at his versatility to play in a 3 or a 2 in attack. The Portuguese forward hit 16 goals and 6 assists in all competitions last season bringing his Wolves career total to 44G/19A in 131 games.

2 graphics showing Jota's role in Nuno's 343/352 systems
----------
Analysis
Attacking play
In the 1-1 draw vs Newcastle last season, you could see Jota's role at LW clearly:
https://preview.redd.it/536zf4s8zco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=21484f923654a88af6fdd1b42ab434affeb25b60

In another game, as Wolves broke on Norwich, their front 2 can be seen as the most advanced up the pitch - a tactic Nuno commonly plays relinquishing his forwards of defensive work to allow them to be as close to the goal as possible.
https://preview.redd.it/4ljwn3ibzco51.png?width=1012&format=png&auto=webp&s=5011f527d8858af66aa47a9e298a635fc8166683

In the game where Wolves brushed aside Spurs 3-2, Jota's movement throughout his goal was outstanding to watch:
https://preview.redd.it/giydcgsfzco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=bafd4f8ed6f202b01334df86c18818714832e555

----------
Playmaking
An underrated part of Jota's game is his ability to link play (akin to Firmino to an extent). The first instance where this can be seen is his role in Doherty's goal.
Jota drops deep in this move to pull the defensive shape of Spurs out and makes it distorted as a result - the defenders don't know if they should go in with him or back off. In this instance the defenders goes with Jota and a simple 1-2 with Vinagre leaves him acres of space on the overlap.
https://preview.redd.it/4l8w302izco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=69665c5431b5782a821c1ffdec5d25274d4f3b59
In another scenario in this game, Wolves sealed all 3 points as they transitioned from defence to attack with devastating effect:
https://preview.redd.it/5o0blluizco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=a0a1e071af974e067b9c62edb118bb72e1c7e2be
----------
Defensive work
Although Nuno does not put emphasis on his forwards doing much defensive work when they are defending in their own half, there is an emphasis on pressing from the front. For instance in the game at Anfield the Portuguese forward nearly carved out a goalscoring opportunity by himself:
https://preview.redd.it/opd6qkmlzco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=0a5b5d610cb2ee8606198290344b2b1edf2a71fc
https://preview.redd.it/nkepos5mzco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=dc0b0bdf6edaba071a24da123870e736d99429fb
https://preview.redd.it/7bgbynimzco51.png?width=1024&format=png&auto=webp&s=d4c932d560fa5ed07f3d0e1d0e6946e551bc03f0
----------
How Jota fits in at Liverpool
Jota has primarily played at LW allowing him to compete with Mane but has played at ST too where he would be competing with Firmino.
The ultimate possibility could be that Klopp would revert to his Dortmund 4231 and utilise his full attacking arsenal by fielding Jota, Firmino, Mane and Salah on the pitch all at the same time.
https://preview.redd.it/9rxwituozco51.png?width=480&format=png&auto=webp&s=6d7fd50aef696802e5d4fc536190fb64af88bcb6
https://preview.redd.it/z7acikdpzco51.png?width=480&format=png&auto=webp&s=51eb52fc8fdc18b41dd5fb3eb641a96f2d8409cc
The addition of Thiago in the same window means Liverpool's attacking force is an extremely dangerous sight. The output of the FBs (Trent + Robertson) alongside the guile of Thiago with the potency of Salah and Mane gives Liverpool a fresher and much needed new look into the 2020/21 season.
If you guys got this far I really appreciate it :)Any support, upvotes and feedback is appreciated to help a football writer like myself out #YNWA

JPEG is a much more ubiquitous image format, and virtually guarantees support across a wide range of applications and platforms. As a much newer image format that the well-established JPEG format, WEBP is not yet supported by Microsoft Office, and many other widely-used desktop applications. There are some caveats, however, in particular for non-web usage: The WEBP image format was developed by google, and while already a few years old, it is still considered the far-superior, next-generation image format for the web.
FREE ONLINE BATCH IMAGE CONVERTER OFFLINE
However, if you really have high volume of scanned text images (PNG, JPG, TIFF, etc) and are looking for fast processing batch OCR, we can do that offline for you quickly and accurately for a small fee.
WEBP supports both lossless image compression, and lossy image compression - whilst JPEG compression is always lossy. There is no catch, the service is 100 free with unlimited uploads.
WEBP is supported by all major modern browsers.
WEBP supports progressive loading - as does JPEG.
WEBP supports alpha transparency - JPEG does not.
WEBP supports animation - JPEG does not.
Start by clicking on 'Add Multiple Pictures' below.

When the job is completed, you will be able to download your resized images as a zip file. While compressing to substantially smaller file sizes than JPEG, WEBP still offers identical visual quality as JPEG. This free tool allows you to resize up to 100 pictures at one time.WEBP offers a much better quality-to-size ratio with roughly 30% better file size compression over JPEG.In virtually all metrics that matter on the web, WEBP is a superior image format to JPEG: Your PNG image(s) will be instantly converted as a batch into optimized JPEG files. Illustration of perceptible noise introduced by lossy JPEG compression vs. Convert images between PNG, JPG, WEBP, GIF image formats in seconds. Screenshots, illustrated images, charts, or other images where image quality and the reduction of noise matters more than image file size.Compression of small icon images (for 64 pixel images PNG actually compresses better than JPEG at these scales), or.PNG on the other hand, contains lossless compression data (no data loss), and is more suited towards either: The JPEG format is particularly suitable for photographs, and “real-world” images where it is able to provide a very high degree of data compression, while the human eye is still incapable of perceiving the noise introduced by the loss of data. JPEG images contain lossy compression data, which means that some image data is lost through approximations in order to achieve a higher degree of compression. There are specific cases for when it is better to use either JPEG or PNG, depending on your needs. Convert Hub is a free online image converter and graphic converter utility tool that converts images and enables you to convert PNG to ICO, BMP to ICO.

The example we used above is using lossy compression. You can use tools such as Adobe Photoshop, Affinity Photo, or other image editors to adjust the quality settings of an image. The file size can be reduced by a large amount. This will degrade the image, so you’ll have to be careful of how much to reduce the image. Lossy – this is a filter that eliminates some of the data. It is also important to understand that there are two types of compression you can use, lossy and lossless. Medium compression (great quality) JPG – 151 KB Lossy vs Lossless Optimization Typically simpler images like PNGs should be under 100 KB or less for best performance. This is almost 4x smaller than the original photo with low compression. So we took the image again at a medium compression rate and as you can see below, the quality looks good now and the file size is 151 KB, which is acceptable for a high-resolution photo. What you want to do is find a happy medium between your compression rate (quality) and the file size. The second image obviously looks horrible, but then it is only 68 KB. 590 KB would be a fourth of that already. That is pretty large for one photo! It is generally best if you can keep a webpage’s total weight under 1 or 2 MB in size. Low compression (high quality) JPG – 590 KB High compression (low quality) JPG – 68 KBĪs you can see the first image above is 590 KB. Note: The original image untouched is 2.06 MB. The second is using a very high compression rate, which results in a very low-quality image (but smaller file size). The first is using a very low compression rate, which results in the highest quality (but larger file size). Here is an example of what can happen you compress an image too much. (Suggested reading: JPG vs JPEG: Understanding the Most Common Image File Format) Compression Quality vs Size Ideally, you should use JPEG or JPG for images with lots of color and PNG for simple images. There are several others, such as JPEG XR and WebP, but they’re not universally supported by all browsers. It’s the best choice for animated images. You can adjust the quality level for a good balance of quality and file size. JPEG – uses lossy and lossless optimization. Was created as a lossless image format, although it can also be lossy. PNG – produces higher quality images, but also has a larger file size. There are several types of files you can use: Choose the Right File Formatīefore you start modifying your images, make sure you’ve chosen the best file type. You’ll have to experiment with each image or file format to see what works best.Ĭhange up your WordPress host to optimize your images and see over 45% speed increases in page load. By choosing the right combination of file format and compression type you can reduce your image size by as much as 5 times. The two primary things to consider are the file format and type of compression you use. Some of these tasks can also be performed using plugins, which we will go into more below. Usually, this can be done in a tool like Adobe Photoshop or Affinity Photo. One of the most popular ways is to simply compress them before uploading to WordPress. There is more than one way to perform almost all of these optimizations. The primary goal of formatting your images is to find the balance between the lowest file size and an acceptable quality. How To Optimize Images for Web and Performance Images make up on average 21% of a web page's overall weight. Requires less storage space on your server (this depends upon how many thumbnails you optimize).Networks and browsers will appreciate this. Smaller image file sizes use less bandwidth.Curious about what percentage of your traffic comes from Google image search? You can use a Google Analytics WordPress plugin or segment to check Google image search traffic. Google is also likely to crawl and index your images faster for Google image search. Large files slow down your site and search engines hate slow sites. Your site will rank higher in search engine results. Combined with a great SEO WordPress plugin it improves your SEO.For more information about optimizing your page loading time see our in-depth page speed optimization guide. If your page takes too long to load your visitors might get tired of waiting and move on to something else. It will improve your page loading speed (see our case study below for how much it affects your speed). And ironically, a good image optimization workflow is one of the easiest things to implement, yet a lot of website owners overlook this. It’s more important than scripts and fonts. See how Kinsta stacks up against the competition.

How is WebP different from SVG and PNG formats?
Using the appropriate image formats on a website is necessary for web designers and developers during the process. Indeed, the use of high-quality images can increase the credibility of what you are showing online. However, if you use large-size assets on your website, you might compromise with the loading speed of your website. So, it becomes paramount for all web designers & developers to use images or other assets like GIFs & animations using a suitable format. For that, you need to consider an image format that delivers high quality even with a small size.
What is WebP? And why is it unique?
WebP is a leading web image format that supports both lossy & lossless compressions along with animations & alpha transparency. Today, a terrific technology war is going on among various file formats to become better than others. In this war, WebP has attracted significant interest from the stakeholders and is becoming a leader in the competition leaving behind some most popular file formats like JPEG.
The one thing that makes WebP unique from all other file formats is its compression properties. Compression, in simple terms, is encoding a file’s data into lesser bits than the original. There are two types of compression processes; lossless and lossy.
In lossless compression, the quality of an image remains the same when you decrease the data size. Whereas in lossy compression, there is a slight decrease in the quality of an image with a significant data size reduction.
Even though the WebP file format is younger than its counterparts, there are several benefits of using it instead of other image files on a website. Let’s discuss them in detail.
Tumblr media
Benefits of using WebP files
Faster loading time:
Web pages with WebP images load faster due to their smaller size. And we all know how important website speed is for a good user experience. According to a report, a delay of a second in loading a page reduces visitor satisfaction by 16%. And one in every four visitors will abandon your site if it doesn’t load in 4 seconds.
Less media storage:
It compressions result in less storage space. But it may not be so impactful for smaller websites. However, websites with more images can save a lot of space and money on web hosting services by using smaller images of WebP format.
Transparency & animations:
WebP files are capable of supporting transparent backgrounds of PNG files. They also possess the animation capabilities of GIF files.
With these valuable benefits, WebP does have some shortcomings also. The main problem with these file format is that all web browsers do not support it. Although many browsers are compatible with WebP, the browsers like Internet Explorer still lack loading WebP files quickly. Besides, the picture quality reduces marginally. However, this difference is too small to visualize.
It has become a leading picture file format. While other formats like SVG and PNG are also relevant in many situations, you need to understand where WebP can be a better choice and where not. For that, let’s discuss how WebP distinguishes itself from SVG and PNG files.
WebP vs SVG
SVG or Scalable Vector Graphics is an XML-based vector file. You can resize Free SVG icons easily without any loss of quality. SVGs become crucial when we talk about the device responsiveness of a website. Therefore, it is highly recommended to use logo or icon as SVGs. With them, users see crisp images irrespective of their screen sizes. In addition to that, you do not need to add extra HTML/CSS code for SVG files. Therefore, if you are using SVG files, you can be sure that they will look great on any device, browser, or screen.
WebP vs PNG
After its launch in 1997, PNG became a standard file format to use in web designs. Even today, PNG is probably the most used image format in the market. It not only has proven to be a go-to image format for low-traffic websites, but it also has performed well for high-traffic websites. With PNG, you get a critical web design element – transparency; that lets you structure images that don’t conflict with each other and retain a consistent design on your website.
When we talk about WebP, it also supports transparency. But over PNG, WebP file has significantly smaller sizes with the same picture quality. Due to the small file size, WebP loads faster than PNG images. Besides, WebP images load faster for Chrome and Opera users as it is structured to load the image with the smallest file size at the time. So you can exploit this advantage to your benefit.

Anybody here with experience with RF microneedling for scars?
Tumblr media
hello everyone
does anyone have any experience with genius RF microneedling? (or any RF microneedling?)
here's a bit about me:
scar types / history :
-here is a picture I found on reddit, I pretty much have this guy's scars (None-ice pick type). They are on my cheeks and temples
https://preview.redd.it/ck555m23s2d81.png?width=237&format=png&auto=webp&s=5c1b7edaf4d58551ac56de36c1075a3e4037050b
-I also have some keloid scars on my chin line and on my back that I had lowered with steroid injections in the past, although the red color is still very much there
-Asian, and I do have a tendency to scar easily.
-no active acne on cheeks for a while now, although I still get pimples from time to time right by my sideburns and on my forehead
after a consultation, the specialist(PA-C) has recommended 3 sessions of Genius RF microneedling for reasons that:
- it's really safe, even for my scar prone skin there is really no risk
- my scars are of a type that can respond well to RF microneedling
- as a plus, she can also do apply it to my keloid scars on my chin and on my back
the cost is $700 / session. This did seem expensive at first, but after researching online and around the area it seems to be about average cost or cheaper for rf microneedling.
I did also google other places near by, but pretty much every single one of these places have 5 star reviews only lol, so I'm not sure how trustworthy they are
from what I've researched so far:
- [good] micro needling is 'supposed to be' one of the safest methods, and Genius RF is supposed to be one of the newest / best RF microneedling (along with Vivace, although I'm not sure what might be better…)
- [good] plenty of happy testimonials from people
- [bad] scattered reports of people saying that rf microneedling has made their scars worse, or caused new ones (sometimes even the raised types) But I really can't find any decent reports on this so I can't confirm….
- [bad] I've read that microneedling applied on a flattened keloid scar can potentially raise it back? The specialist that I had seen hadn't mentioned this, and has told me that she will apply RF microneedling on these scars as well.
- [bad] can melt facial fat and make you look older? again, only a few scattered reports that I can't confirm….
If the worst outcome of from this treatment is that there's not really any improvement, then that's $2100 down the drain but I'm fortunate enough where it won't significantly impact my life, so I'm ok with it.
However, if there is a chance that I do end up with worse scars / new scars somehow, then I wouldn't really want to do this.
I think I might do one more consultation at another place to before fully deciding, but I just wanted to hear everyone's thoughts??
additional questions:
- does a dermatologist (M.D.) typically do this procedure? I think at this place it'll be the PA-C that performs the procedure, is that a cause for concern?
- And should I try to find a place that can do RF microneedling with PRP? (this was never brought up at my current place) I've read PRP added can improve results. Is there anybody that has had RF microneedling with PRP?
- vivace vs genius? hard to find info on it, is either type better for acne scars?
thanks in advance!

Small Diameter Handles for everyday common carry screwdrivers
Tumblr media
I use a pouch at work and usually carry 4 screwdrivers at a time with one long Beater slotted head.
My issue is I pull out my sides or a level/strippers/lineman etc and it will get snagged with my screw drivers. or the screw driver handles will grab/snag on each other so every so often I am resetting/organizing my pouch.
What other brands have a smaller handle width wise so I don't run into this issue constantly ruining my "flow" at work
https://preview.redd.it/gpf2fuo4d0981.png?width=3024&format=png&auto=webp&s=9b8500019f4e3ab4b213de5705d12c52c88d1a38
^^^ My newly purchased cutters vs Retired cutters for shameless upvotes/ post visibility
TL;DR What screw driver brands have a smaller handle than Klein cause they don't fit in my pouch nicely with out pulling out my other screwdrivers/tools in the same tool pouch "pocket"?
Pouch in question for context

[OC] Fernando Torres: How Injury Dampened the Great Career of Liverpool Legend & Football Talent El Niño via /r/LiverpoolFC
[OC] Fernando Torres: How Injury Dampened the Great Career of Liverpool Legend & Football Talent El Niño
Hi everyone,
This is a piece on Premier League legend Fernando Torres and the injury which perhaps was the final nail in the coffin for his time at Liverpool. If you don't know me already my name is Matthew Feyissa and I am a medical student from London. With no football going on, I have been making videos on the famous football injuries of the past. As per usual I have attached part of the transcript to this piece, however I would encourage you to watch along on YouTube to view the images, footage and 3D models of the injured region to have a greater appreciation for the injury.
YouTube channel: Matthew Feyissa

Transcript:
In the 2009/2010 season, Liverpool legend Fernando Torres suffered a torn meniscus injury. This injury had troubled Torres before and was a contributing factor to his decline towards the end of his tenure at Anfield. Despite his greatness he was never the same after his string of injuries as he had lost his explosiveness and when Chelsea offered £50m players Liverpool were inclined to accept. With players such as Gerrard and Carragher later coming out saying he was no longer the Torres of past.’
If we look at the 3D anatomy of the knee we can see there are spongy structures called menisci. The meniscus is a piece of cartilage that provides a cushion between your femur (thighbone) and tibia (shinbone). There are two menisci in each knee joint and they can be damaged or torn during activities that put pressure on or rotate the knee joint.
Menisci tear in different ways. Tears are noted by how they look, as well as where the tear occurs in the meniscus. Common tears include bucket handle, flap, and radial (images on video).
The meniscus tear is a very common injury that occurs to not only athletes. According to the Boston Children’s Hospital ‘500,000 tears alone in the US.’ This does make sense with the mechanism of injury not just being from a hard tackle but also from twisting your knee excessively and suddenly. It is also stated that adults over 30 are at increased risk with movements such as squatting adding risk if you have already weak menisci.
Regarding how Torres would have felt. He would have been able to continue playing if he had an especially high pain tolerance however this would have been very uncomfortable. A torn meniscus depending on the severity typically causes pain, swelling and stiffness. With the structure of your shock absorbers altered every step is going to feel painful with the bones forming your knee joint rubbing together with every bend of the knee.
Regarding treatment there are 2 proposed methods much like a majority of injuries; active rehabilitation with doctors/physios vs surgery to physically repair the cartilage. In Torres’ case he had arthroscopic surgery to try and repair the cartilage after an unsuccessful spell of rehab. In hindsight this does seem it was done to try and find a quick solution to get him back on the pitch in time for the South Africa 2010 World Cup where alongside Spain he was able to win.
Knee arthroscopy is one of the most commonly performed surgical procedures. In it, a miniature camera is inserted through a small incision (portal). This provides a clear view of the inside of the knee and allows the surgeon to repair any tears via a partial meniscectomy (part removal of the meniscus) or a meniscus repair where sutures are used to reattach pieces of cartilage (for more information on the treatment Torres had and why active rehabilitation is better that surgery in a majority of cases in the video)
I hope this video helped hash out some of the reasons behind Torres’ torn meniscus in 2009. Make sure to subscribe if you liked the content and check out my other videos as part of the historic injury playlist on my channel featuring the likes of Sturridge, Petr Cech, Cazorla, Eduardo, & Ronaldo. Any constructive feedback welcomed with open arms. Hope you enjoyed and until next time I’ll see you later.
